Another wonderful Spirit happening on May 26th! We wore our red, white, and blue in recognition and honor of Memorial Day. We had visits by a few of our members' doggies and a birdie too. Lots of our snowbird members joined us from their homes up north. We welcomed our newest member, Peggy, as she passed her virtual audition. On to business - Jan took us through the Expression category with video examples of choruses and the opportunity to discuss their grades. Lori Lyford popped in to say hello and share her emotions about being a Sweet Adeline sister. The special treat of the night was the presentation that DeeDee put together that contained hope-filled messages from our Spirit sisters. Led by our loving co-directors Karen & DeeDee...WE WILL ALWAYS BE SPIRIT STRONG!
Spirit of the Gulf has transitioned beautifully to this current, temporary, way of life! Our smart and innovative co-directors Karen & DeeDee have not missed a beat. They have created inspiring videos, coordinated Zoom rehearsals, introduced new music, provided ongoing education and most of all continue to lead us with joy and love while we are apart. Our Music Team and Management Team are keeping us all up to date with our music and administrative plans. We are constantly honing our skills and preparing for the moment when we'll all be together. We look forward to singing with each other again, in person, and joyfully bringing our harmony to our community. Let's keep in touch!
Please note:
Due to the Coronavirus situation, Spirit of the Gulf's regularly scheduled rehearsals at Church of the Cross have been canceled until further notice. We are SPIRIT STRONG and we'll get through this. Please stay well.
Way to go Raegan, Madison, KaleyAnna, and Emily! During our rehearsal today, Spirit watched you live, on stage, in Manchester England. Congratulations on your performance and your well-earned first place finish. Way to go champs!! We are incredibly proud of you! Come on home so we can celebrate!!
Spirit of the Gulf is proud to announce that we are the current chorus champs for Region 9! Under the co-direction of Karen Breidert and DeeDee Kastler we brought home the blue ribbon; winning the chorus competition in Daytona Beach in April 2019. There is excitement in the air as we prepare for our appearance at the Sweet Adelines International competition in Louisville KY in October 2020!
