Spirit of the Gulf is a loving sisterhood that embraces respect and acceptance for all. We come together to create music and joyfully practice inclusion and tolerance. Our collective experience celebrates and cherishes all of our sisters. Spirit is a place where racism, hate, judgment, and prejudice are not tolerated. It is about harmony, and it’s what we do best: showing the world what it looks and feels like to love one another

Education
 
Alongside sharing our music, we are deeply passionate about exploring the intricacies of a cappella singing. Vocal training is an essential part of our chorus rehearsals and plays a crucial role in our overall choral experience. Throughout the year, our members receive guidance from a visiting master in the art of barbershop, who shares various techniques and tricks of the trade that we incorporate into our performances.

Affiliation

Spirit of the Gulf is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of approximately 20,000 members in choruses and quartets worldwide. The headquarters is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
